Our story
El Monte's Honest Mechanics
Tech 1 Auto Repair is a family-run shop on Mountain View Rd, run by Ben and a small crew of mechanics who've spent years earning El Monte's trust one honest diagnosis at a time.
We've worked on everything from Fords and Toyotas to Mitsubishis and Mercurys — starters, batteries, security chips and ignition systems, CVT transmissions, timing belts, A/C systems, and radiators. Customers tell us again and again that we explain exactly what's wrong and what caused it, instead of just upselling parts.
Some of our customers have been with us for seven years and counting, bringing in car after car for the whole family. That kind of loyalty is built one fair, straightforward repair at a time.
- Honest, upfront diagnostics
- Fair, transparent pricing
- Works on all makes and models
- Loyal customers who keep coming back
What customers say
“Tech 1 Auto was one of the best and most honest shops we have been to. We highly recommend them. They got to our vehicles right away when we were moving from another state. Ben was very helpful and eased our stress. He showed us in detail what was wrong and what may have caused the problem.”
“Took my vehicle here because I thought my starter was out. The head mechanic said he didn't think it was my starter and tested my battery. Turned out my battery was the problem and he replaced it for $60 less than all the other major parts stores were trying to charge.”
“I've been to this shop now with five different vehicles. Prices are fair and more than anything the owner and employees are HONEST. I have been doing my own work on cars for the greatest part of my life, its nice to have a shop I totally trust!”
